"I've been looking for something creative I could do that would take my mind off the chronic pain that continues to be a challenge for me. I had a few spare socks around the house and decided to experiment with making sock animals. I started with Canadian animals: moose, bear, elk, beaver and when I showed a few friends, they sold out right away. I use plain socks for the base of the animal and then add colourful sock cuffs for sweaters and felt for the eyes and ears. I like to keep them simple, without a lot of moving parts so they last longer and can be thoroughly loved.Now, my sock creations are featured in local shops in Edmonton, Jasper, AB, Vancouver Island, Whistler, BC and online sales with ETSY.
